Two people were arrested following a drug investigation in Stephens County.

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that officers with the Crime Suppression Unit and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on a home on Celtic Drv. in Eastanollee on March 6.

The investigation initially began because authorities reportedly received a tip from a citizen that a suspect, Gary Marvin English, 65, was selling illegal narcotics. Several law enforcement agencies arrived at the residence at 9:55 a.m. and made contact with English. Authorities obtained a search warrant for the home after allegedly discovering suspected methamphetamine in English’s pocket.

During the search of the home, authorities seized approximately 240 grams of suspected methamphetamine, $4,572 in cash, 21 firearms and a large quantity of ammunition, according to the post.

English was arrested and transported to the Stephens County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking methamphetamine, three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and five counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A female that was at the residence at the time of the search was also arrested in the case. Sandra Ostiguy, 65 of Toccoa, was taken to the Stephens County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking methamphetamine, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
