McGee recommended for principal's job at newest Hall County high school

By B.J. Williams

At the Monday evening meeting of the Hall County School Board, Superintendent Will Schofield recommended Wesley McGee, the current principal at Habersham Central High School, to become the principal of Hall County's newest high school.

McGee has been principal at Habersham Central since 2013. Prior to assuming that role, McGee had been employed by the Hall County School District, first as a teacher at East Hall Middle School from 1994 to 2005 and then as an assistant principal at East Hall High School from 2005 to 2013.

McGee is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Lincoln Memorial University.

The seventh traditional high school for the HCSD will take students from the current Flowery Branch High School and Johnson High School, both of which are over capacity resulting from recent population growth in both school communities. The new high school will open for the 2018-19 school year.
