KINGSPORT, Tenn. — The Truett McConnell softball team took an early 1-0 lead over Union but the Bulldogs came back to win a 3-1 Opening Round game at the AAC Softball Tournament in Kingsport, Tenn.
The Bears opened up the scoring in the first inning on a Jaden Morrison RBI single after TMU loaded the bases.
TMU loaded the bases again in the fourth inning with one out but the Bulldogs got out of the jam and found a single run in the fifth and two more in the sixth. The Bears put runners on the corners in the seventh but were turned away as Union advanced in the winners' bracket.
Peyton Wilson led the way at the plate with a 2-for-2 performance and a walk.
The Bears will take on Bryan in an elimination game at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Kingsport.
