Habersham Electric Membership Corp. CEO Jonathan Cantrell has resigned effective today, April 11.
That's according to a written statement by HEMC Board of Directors Chairman Rick Wood, released just after noon.
According to Wood, Cantrell resigned to pursue other interests and opportunities.
"The HEMC Board of directors wants to thank Mr. Cantrell for his many years of exceptional service to the co-op and wish him the best in his future endeavors," Wood's statement concludes.
Prior to his appointment as interim CEO in 2014 after 12 years at the cooperative, Cantrell was the Data Warehouse Program Manager. He began his career with Habersham Electric in the Information Technologies Department and became the Director of I.T. before assuming the Data Warehouse position.
Cantrell graduated from Piedmont College with a bachelor's degree in accounting and worked at Standard Telephone Co. before joining HEMC.
