OAKWOOD — West Hall snapped a five-game losing streak rallying for a 9-7 win over Prince Avenue Tuesday night in non-region action at Spartan Field.
The Spartans (11-9) used a big five-run third inning to erase a 4-2 Wolvrines (12-7) lead. Prince Avenue tied the game in the top of the fifth but West Hall reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the inning.
Courtesy runner Kyle Quensenberry scored on a pass ball and Erik Ayala added a RBI sacrifice fly for the 9-7 lead.
Charlie Cochran came on in the fourth in relief and went 1 2/3 innings allowing one run on two hits and striking out two to get the win. But he needed some help.
Tanner Ahmad pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and Jeffery Jenkins came on in the seventh with a runner on first and one out and got a groundout and struck out the final batter to get the save.
Jenkins also added two hits for West Hall. Cameron Shirley and Canaan Koger each had a hit and two RBI to lead the offense.
West Hall will travel to rival Flowery Branch on Friday in another non-region battle.
