OAKWOOD — Jeffrey Jenkins scattered three hits and struck out seven to lead West Hall to a 5-0 win over White County Thursday in both teams' Region 7-AAAA opener at Spartans Field.
The Spartans (8-3, 1-0 Region 7-AAAA) got all they would need with two runs in the first and three in the second against Warriors starter Jay Taylor. Taylor went the distance for White County (2-11, 0-1).
Tanner Ahmad had two hits and three RBI to lead a six-hit attack for West Hall. Carter Lott had two hits and Jenkins added a hit and two RBI for the Spartans.
The two teams will meet in Cleveland for a doubleheader on Friday.
