CLEVELAND — The Truett McConnell women's basketball team fell at the hands of Point University, 73-62, Wednesday night in the final collegiate basketball game in the Bear Cave.
The Lady Bears are now 15-14 overall and 11-10 in league play.
The Bears took an early 6-3 lead behind four quick points from Janae' Simpson, but then the Skyhawks caught fire and took a lead they would never relinquish.
TMU cut the lead down from 21 points to 10 with just under two minutes to play but could not get any closer.
Ariana Sanders and Simpson led the team with 14 points each. Simpson added 11 boards to earn a double-double.
The Bears will finish out the regular season on the road at Bryan. Tip off is slated for 2 p.m. in Dayton, Tennessee.
