CLEVELAND — Truett McConnell President Dr. Emir Caner has announced that Tiek Fields will be the next head women's basketball coach at TMU.
"First, I would like to thank God for the opportunity to be the new head women's basketball coach at TMU," said Fields. "I am grateful for the opportunity and am looking forward to getting started.
Fields has been with Truett McConnell in different areas since February 2013, working as the head JV men's coach and the assistant men's coach for the Bears. He has also served as an assistant director at Point Guard College, overseeing six instructors and 100-180 athletes training to improve their skills on the court.
Graduating from North Cobb High School in Acworth, Georgia, in 2008, Fields garnered recognition as a three-year letter winner on the Warriors' varsity basketball team.
Fields attended Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia, from 2008-2012, where he was a four-year starter for the Lions. During his freshman year, he was named to the Southern States Athletic Conference's All-Freshman Team and was a part of the Lions first NCCAA National Championship team.
During his junior year, Fields helped lead the Lions to the school's first ever SSAC tournament championship. In 2012, Fields was named a SSAC All-Division Player.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Fields worked for a computer company prior to joining the Bears athletic staff.
Fields currently resides in Cleveland.
