PHOTO GALLERY: Snow adds chill of the season to area Christmas parades

Christmas parades in Helen and Clarkesville Saturday had an extra touch of holiday feel, thanks to seasonal temperatures and Friday's snow.

In Helen, thousands line Chattahoochee Street and Main Street to view a variety of floats, walking entries and animals make their way through the Alpine Village in the 2 p.m. event.

Floats from Cowboys & Angels, Faschingsverein Helen, and Cool River Tubing took top honors in that parade.

At 5 p.m., downtown Clarkesville hosted the annual Habersham County Christmas Parade, aptly themed, "A Storybook Christmas".

In Clarkesville, All Occasion Flowers, Refuge Baptist Church, and RJ's RV Service took top parade honors for their entries.
