DAHLONEGA — Ivan Acimovic scored three goals, giving him his first collegiate hat trick as the third-seeded University of North Georgia men's soccer team moved on in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament with a 4-0 win over sixth-seeded USC Aiken Tuesday night at the UNG Soccer Complex.

The Nighthawks scored early and often in the first half with Acimovic scoring in the eighth minute and, two minutes later, Michael Akin doubling the lead in the 10th minute.

Acimovic scored again in the 22nd minute and scored the hat trick goal on a wide-open net in the 70th minute of play.

NOTES
- The hat trick was just the second in program history, joining Eddie Hurst's hat trick against the Pacers on October 15, 2016, in Dahlonega.

- North Georgia improves to 9-7-0 on the season and 10-8-1 all-time against the Pacers.

- In the only other men's tournament match Tuesday, fifth-seeded Clayton State upset fourth-seeded Flagler, 1-0, in St. Augustine, Florida.

NEXT UP
The Nighthawks will take on second-seeded Young Harris in the PBC semifinals on Friday night at 8 p.m. at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Georgia.
