ELGIN, S.C. — Megan Sabol shot a one-over-par 73 in the final round to claim second place individually as the University of North Georgia women's golf team placed fourth at the Newberry Fall Invitational. Florida Southern (611) finished in first place by six strokes.

Sabol finished one stroke behind Wingate's Diana McDonald for the tournament championship with a score of 149. Jordyn Sims and Karson Stone also had top-20 finishes in the event.

North Georgia's team score of 633 put them five strokes out of third place, held by Anderson (628). Wingate (617) finished in second, and Lincoln Memorial (647) rounded out the top five.

The Nighthawks' fall season has come to a close. The next time UNG will compete is February 4 at the Flagler World Golf Invitational in St. Augustine, Florida.
