SUWANEE — Mill Creek stormed to a 48-14 defeat of Peachtree Ridge on Friday in Suwanee.
Quarterback Brady Longenecker threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two scores as the Hawks (6-2, 3-1 Region 6-AAAAAAA) sprinted to a 38-0 lead early in the third quarter.
Longenecker, who completed 9 of 12 passes for 178 yards and rushed for 64 yards, scored both rushing touchdowns in the first quarter, as Mill Creek stamped its authority on the contest.
Rafael Morales added 58 yards rushing and a touchdown, while Austin Williams, Andrew Johns and Parker Wroble each hauled in scoring passes. Alan Andrzejewski also kciked a 20-yard field goal, and Matt Campbell added a 51-yard field goal for Mill Creek.
Mill Creek finished with 404 total yards, including 227 passing. The Hawks defense also threw Peachtree Ridge for minus-33 yards rushing for the game.
Mill Creek faces a key region showdown at Mountain View next week.
