PEMBROKE, N.C. — Despite three great individual performances that included two double-doubles, the 17th-ranked University of North Georgia women's basketball team wasn't able to come up with a win at Lumbee Bank Court Monday afternoon falling to UNC Pembroke, 79-66. The Nighthawks slip to 13-3 on the year and are now 5-2 in the Peach Belt Conference.
After a close first quarter of play the Braves lit up the scoreboard in the second period posting an eye-popping 28 points and taking a 40-32 lead into halftime. Things wouldn't get much better in the second half for UNG as some turnovers proved costly with UNCP outscoring the Nighthawks in points off turnovers 24-11.
Jordan Livesay and Deana Blankinship led the team in scoring with 18 points each. Blankinship added a team high 11 rebounds for a double-double, her third of the season. Kelsey Hutchins also posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards.
Hutchins extends her streak of consecutive games with double figure scoring to 42.
