Reinhardt defeats Truett women's basketball, 60-48

CLEVELAND — The Truett McConnell women's basketball team struggled early on the offensive end, while the top team in the AAC, Reinhardt, hit on all cylinders and held on late for a 60-48 win. The Bears are now 9-8 overall and 5-5 in league play.

TMU had trouble finding points in the first quarter, being outscored 17-4 in the first frame. The Eagles extended their lead to 23 points by the halftime horn.

The Bears fought back in the second half, outscoring Reinhardt 33-22 in the half and cutting the lead down to as few as 10 late, but the Eagles hit free throws down the stretch to pull out the win.

Quinlan Hughes put up her third double-double of the season, tallying 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead Truett McConnell.

The Bears will next travel to Union on Wednesday to take on the Bulldogs. Tip time is 5:30 p.m.
