CLEVELAND — The Truett McConnell women's basketball team had to battle from behind almost all night but pulled out a thriller in the Bear Cave Tuesday night, defeating St. Andrews, 60-59, behind a career night from junior Anna Murr. The Bears improve to 9-6 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

The Bears led early as Anna Murr hit her first shot of the game to take a 3-2 lead, but the Knights would retake the lead and hold on to it for the entirety of the first half and 7:10 of the third quarter.

The Bears and Knights went back-and-forth throughout the rest of the third and the fourth quarters. Hannah Lentz hit the game-winning shot with 14 seconds left on a drive to the basket and a left-handed finish. LeeAysia Williamson had a look at the basket, but her shot fell off the rim, allowing TMU to earn the victory.

Murr finished with a career-high 23 points on 7-for-25 shooting from the field, with all of her made baskets coming from behind the arc. The 23-point performance was Murr's third game with 20 or more points and her 10th game finishing in double figures.

Quinlan Hughes battled foul trouble all night but finished with 15 points as she played with four fouls from the start of the third quarter. Sarah Hartshorn added 14 points in the win.

The Bears will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Point University on Thursday for another AAC matchup. Tip time is at 5:30 p.m. in West Point, Georgia.
