DEMOREST — Yet another USA South contest for the Piedmont College women's soccer team turned out the right way for the Lady Lions with PC earning a 1-0 victory over Agnes Scott College on Sunday afternoon.
The victory is the second straight in league action and third in the last four for PC who now sits in second place in the USA South West Division with 10 points, two behind leader Covenant College who has won its last six after starting the year 0-1.
Piedmont outshot the Scotties by a wide margin having much of the ball throughout the 90 minutes though it was a lone score from Savannah Castles in the 15th minute that gave Piedmont the win.
Castles was able knock the ball over the oncoming keeper from Agnes Scott, Iara Moran, for the score after Tori Gillett found Castles through. With the lead now in hand, Piedmont would continue to put pressure on sending several chances just past the frame in the 1-0 win.
