CLEVELAND — White County football flat-out needed a win on Friday night -- and Kaleb Crane helped make it happen.
The junior quarterback stepped up to score all three Warrior touchdowns -- including what ended up being the game-winning score in overtime, as White County's defense also came up big late to seal a 24-23 overtime defeat of previously undefeated North Hall in Cleveland.
Crane also rushed for 105 yards against their old rivals, as well as passing for 94, as the Warriors (1-3) notched their first victory of the season. Meanwhile, White County also stuffed what would have been a winning two-point conversion play from the Trojans, who also scored a touchdown in overtime.
For his efforts, Crane has been named the Friday Game Night, Locos Grill and Pub Player of the Week.
The Warriors needed someone to help provide a turning point after a frustrating start to 2016 and certainly Crane's outing could be prove to be that, as White County looks to get back to its winning ways in the days before the start of its region season.
AccessWDUN sports and Friday Game Night editor Morgan Lee recently caught up with Crane to talk with him about his big night, the Warriors' fortunes this season and how they're feeling about the remainder of the campaign.
