Knights come back to beat Truett men's soccer, 3-2

COCHRAN — The Truett McConnell men's soccer team took a 2-0 lead through 26 minutes of play before Middle Georgia State scored the final three goals of the match to defeat the Bears, 3-2, on Wednesday night. This is the first loss of the season for TMU.

Truett McConnell scored first in the 15th minute when Jonathan Salgado found the back of the net, and, 12 minutes later, Joao Costa did the same to put the Bears up, 2-0.

The Knights responded in the 33rd minute on a Johnathan Barragan goal that took the game to its halftime score, 2-1. Jesus Sanchez scored the final two goals of the game in the 63rd and 81st minutes to give the Knights the win.

Both teams finished with 13 shots, but the Knights held a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal.

The Bears will jump into AAC play on Saturday as they travel to St. Andrews for a 2 p.m. kickoff in Laurinburg, N.C.
