CLEVELAND -- A bicyclist was injured Saturday morning after he was struck by a vehicle in the city of Cleveland.
The crash happened around 11:15 a.m. on South Main Street, said Lt. Wesley Addis of Cleveland Police Department.
Sean Speagle, 35, was riding his bicycle traveling south on Georgia 11, in the northbound lane, Addis said. Witnesses reported Speagle swerved the bicycle to the right and then back to the left. As he did, the driver of a Jeep vehicle exited the driveway of South State Bank going north and collided with the bicycle.
The bicyclist was thrown from the bike, but Addis said he did not receive life-threatening injuries.
Speagle was taken by White County ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Blood alcohol test results are pending on Speagle, who is expected to be charged with DUI, as well as driving on the wrong side of the road, Addis said.
The driver of the Jeep, who was not identified, was deemed not at fault in the accident, according to Addis.
