Academy Sports in Gainesville Thursday hosted 30 local students for a back-to-school shopping spree as part of a nationwide program the chain conducts each year.
The youngsters were taken to the store on Dawsonville and given $100 gift cards to shop for "anything they need" to kick off the new school year, according to a statement from the company.
