Fair Street Elementary Students met Lucile the Golden Tiger Tuesday after the fourth grade students wrote stories about her.
Lucile is the mascot for Brenau University, and was the star of this year's Tiger Tales program. The elementary students learned pre-writing and the writing process with students from three education courses, taught by Dr. Donna Cherveny.
The theme for this year's anthology was Lucile saves the day, and the students in Mrs. Eve Reeves class donned capes, complete with tiger tails, and each received a hardbound version on the anthology, filled with the stories they wrote and the illustrations they drew.
"They created a super hero, Lucile, and each story individually dealt with a different challenge and Lucile saved the day in the end."
This edition of Tiger Tales is the fifth year of the program, which is grant funded by Target, according to Cherveny.
