DAWSONVILLE — Every player in the lineup had at least one hit and one RBI as West Hall exploded for 10 runs over the final two innings of a 15-5 blowout win over Dawson County in five innings Tuesday in a key Region 7-AAA contest.
The Spartans (11-7, 5-5 Region 7-AAA) moved into a tie for third place with Lumpkin County with their third straight win while Dawson County (12-6, 6-4) dropped its fourth straight game and now leads West Hall and Lumpkin County by just one game for second place.
Dawson County and West Hall next will head to Oakwood on Friday for a crucial doubleheader.
On Tuesday, Brain Newman led a 15-hit West Hall attack with three hits and three RBI. Trey Horton had two hits and three RBI and Eric Ayala, Tanner Ahmed, and Josh Anderson each had two hits and Ahmed, Jenkins, and Cole Wilson had two RBI apiece for the Spartans.
Kyle Reynolds got the win going five innings giving up four earned runs.
