GAINESVILLE — White County used an eight-run sixth inning to rally for a 13-4 victory over Chestatee Friday in Region 8-AAAA action.
Chestatee (7-11, 3-5 Region 8-AAAA) led 3-0 after three innings behind three scoreless innings from starter Austin Sargent. But Sargent was chased with two outs in the fourth and allowed four runs on five hits while striking out four.
White County (5-12, 2-8) pusherd its lead to 5-3 in the fifth. Chestatee pulled within 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth before the Warriots blew it open in the sixth.
Mikey Petraroi led Chestatee reaching base four times, including two hits and scored twice. Joe Sutton also had two hits and Will Cantrell had two hits and one RBI for the War Eagles. Clay Coffey added an RBI double and Sargent also had hit while Kyle Garrett drew an RBI walk.
Chestatee next will travel to Stephens County in Region 8-AAAA play on Monday while White County will travel to Rabun County in a non-region game.
