The Georgia Department of Transportation says more work is planned this weekend on the Dawsonville Highway bridge over Lake Lanier, which will require the closing of one lane.
The work, which involves painting the bridge, will take place both Saturday and Sunday and one of the westbound lanes will be closed each day from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
GDOT says the painting is part of a bridge rehabilitation project, which includes the installation of cover plates, spall repair, installation of new bridge joints, application of a new wearing surface, repair/replacement of bearing assemblies, and painting existing superstructure.
The project, which began last October, is scheduled to be completed by the end of June.
