ST. SIMONS ISLAND — Led by a pair of top-10 finishes by the Humphrey brothers, the University of North Georgia men's golf team held its spot to finish second out of 19 teams at the College of Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational on the Retreat Course at Sea Island Golf Club. The Nighthawks posted a team score of 307 to finish two shots ahead of third place Reinhardt.
Dillon Humphrey carded a final round 75 to finish with a 148 and a share of eighth place, while Dalton Humphrey shaved one stroke with a final round 74, landing the senior in a tie for 10th place.
Austin Booker and Will McFarlin added matching 79's to round out the scoring for UNG.
Host and NAIA 4th-ranked Coastal Georgia won the event by 28 strokes with a 287-288--575.
North Georgia tees it up again on Feb. 22-23 at the Armstrong State Pirate Spring Invitational held at Savannah Quarters Golf Club.
