DAHLONEGA — The University of North Georgia men's golf team was never able to find a rhythm collectively on Tuesday finishing the 54-hole UNG Fall Invitational with a 298-286-316-900 to finish in 11th place. Matt Elliott did finish on a high note however, with a 71 on the day to finish the tournament at -3 (75-67-71-213), in a tie for 13th individually.

Although perfect conditions on Monday led to numerous tournament records being broken, Tuesday's increase in wind provided more of a challenge to the field of 12 teams, as only one squad shot lower in round three than either of the two previous rounds. Newberry College walked away with the team title at 276-279-276-831, besting the previous tournament record by five strokes at -33.

Consistency proved key for the tournament's individual medalist, Spencer Skiff of Newberry, who posted a 67-67-67-201, to finish at -15, three shots ahead of his teammate Ben Thompson in second place. Skiff's three-round 201 is a new tournament record.

Grant Lasseter was UNG's second top-scorer at 77-70-76-223, four shots over par on the day to finish plus-7 on the tournament. Tanner Merck held on to a top 50 spot at 75-74-79-228, tied for 49th.
