AUGUSTA — University of North Georgia women's basketball player Cierra Jackson has been chosen as the Peach Belt Conference's Player of the Week as announced on Monday afternoon from league headquarters.
Jackson led the Nighthawks on both ends of the floor last week, averaging 16.5 points and 16.5 rebounds as the squad split a pair of contests.
In a home victory over Montevallo, Jackson drained 19 points, shooting 46% from the floor and pulled in 18 rebounds.
On Saturday's loss at Lander, she registered 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Her two double-doubles marked the 13th of the season, and 19th of her career for the guard.
The Athens native leads the conference and ranks second nationally in rebounds per game, averaging 12.7.
The Peach Belt weekly honor is the first of the season for the UNG women's basketball team.
