ATHENS, Tenn. — The ninth-seeded Truett McConnell women's soccer team fell to the fourth-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan in the Appalachian Athletic Conference semifinal, 2-1, Thursday afternoon, ending the Bears' run in the tournament. TMU finishes the season at 9-10-1.

It didn't take long for the Bears to get on the board, scoring in the first eight minutes of the match. Susanna Peppers fired a shot in from 25 yards out that squeaked in the upper left corner of the goal to put TMU up, 1-0.

The Bulldogs answered with a Hannah Dearing goal in the 33rd minute of play to tie the match at 1-1. Dearing picked up a bouncing ball inside the box and rolled it in. The game remained at 1-1 until the 73rd minute when Dayna Randall took a cross from AAC Offensive Player of the Year Nicole Broderick and headed it home for the game winning goal.

The Bears continued to push forward with pressure for the final minutes but were unable to put one in the back of the net.
