A 56-year-old Hall County man was shot and killed outside a Braselton convenience store Saturday morning, and police are looking for suspects in the incident.
Braselton Police Chief Terry Esco said the deadly shooting happened around 1 a.m. at the Circle K on Highway 124 at Highway 211.
"Upon their [officers] arrival, they noticed a white male laying next to the gas pumps deceased," said Esco.
Not only are police looking for the person or persons responsible for shooting 56-year-old James Walls, but also they are looking for a woman who was in the victim's vehicle.
"She was in the vehicle with him and she got out of there before we [arrived]," Esco said.
Esco said it is possible the victim and the suspects knew one another or were at least acquainted with each other.
"It started at the Waffle House - they were beside each other at the Waffle House - evidently talking, according to the video that we retrieved from there," Esco said. "Then it went from the Waffle House over to the Circle K and that's where the actual shooting took place."
Esco said the suspect vehicle was described only as a "white car with black rims." He said surveillance video from the gas station did not pick up a tag number on the car.
The victim is thought to be from Flowery Branch, according to Esco.
The chief said the apparenty homicide is the first in Braselton in the last six years.
