COMMERCE — Towns County football may have come into Friday night's game at Commerce fired up.
But so did Cole Chancey, and the Indians had no answer for the Tigers standout -- on either side of the ball.
Chancey rung up five touchdowns -- three on offense and two on defense -- to help Commerce overcome a first quarter deficit and run past the Indians 56-20.
Chancey also finished the game with 10 rushes for 135 yards.
For his efforts, Chancey has been named the Locos Grill and Pub Friday Game Night Player of the Week.
A senior, Chancey has played a key role for Commerce all season, leading the program with 797 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns. He is also amongst the team leaders with 37 total tackles -- and you can expect him to be in the middle of the Tigers battle with undefeated Athens Academy on Friday.
With that in mind, AccessWDUN Sports and Friday Game Night editor Morgan Lee caught up with the Tigers standout to talk with him about his big night, Commerce's Region 8-A showdown with the Spartans and how his team is progressing through the end of the regular season.
