By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

Gwinnett County Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who was found dead in the roadway early Saturday morning after reportedly being hit by a car.

In a release, Gwinnett County Police Corporal Fredrick Saldana said the man was found on Lawrenceville Highway just south of Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville at around 3:46 a.m. Saldana said the man was pronounced dead at the scene and was not carrying any identification at the time.

He is described as a black male, around 20 to 25 years old with short black hair, brown eyes, a mustache and goatee and multiple tattoos. He was found wearing a maroon jacket, black jeans and brown boots.

Saldana said the car that reportedly hit the man fled the scene but was recovered shortly after police found the victim and the driver was arrested. Anyone with information about the victim's identity is asked to contact Gwinnett County Investigators by calling 770-513-5700.
