Wrestling: Clarke Central dominates en route to title at 8-AAAAA traditionals

SUGAR HILL — Clarke Central had nine individual champions and rolled to an impressive Area 8-AAAAA Traditional tournament win Saturday at the Lanier High gym.

The Gladiators sent 12 wreastlers through to next week's Sectionals, which will also be held at Lanier. They finished with 256 points.

Host Lanier had its best-ever Area tournament finish, taking second with 143 points, nipping third place Heritage, Conyers, which had 141.5 points. The Longhorns had eight advance, including 170-pound winner Ethan Wilson.

Gainesville finished fourth and will send six to the Sectionals, led by 138-pound champsion Jerson Garcia. Anthony Costantini took second at 195 for the Red Elephants.

Flowery Branch, which finished eighth overall, had one champion in Anthony Woodall at 220.
