MORROW — Kelsey Hutchins netted a game-high 21 points, but the University of North Georgia women's basketball team came up on the short end of a 68-62 Peach Belt Conference contest at No. 13 Clayton State on Sunday afternoon.
Cierra Jackson and Jordan Livesay added 12 points each for the Nighthawks. Jackson pulled down 12 rebounds to complete her 11th double-double of the season.
The Nighthawks (12-7, 4-6 PBC) used a 7-0 run to close the second quarter and entered intermission trailing 33-30.
Three consecutive layups and a free throw by Hutchins gave North Georgia its first lead of the game, 39-38, with 6:29 remaining in the third quarter, but Clayton State (16-1, 10-0 PBC) responded with a 12-0 run to take control of the contest.
