GAINESVILLE - Ten people will be honored next week as Master Craftsmen at the 2015 Master Craftsmen Awards Program, according to an announcement from the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce (GHCC).
The award recognizes ten skilled tradesmen as part of the Master Craftsmen/Builders of America program, which operates in partnership with Featherbone Communiversity and Lanier Technical College.
The program was designed to work with Governor Nathan Deal's "Go Build Georgia" program to educate young people on the values of learning trade.
A ceremony will be held on October 1 at 9 a.m. at Featherbone Communiversity and is open to the public. The ceremony will feature a forum moderated by State Senator Butch Miller and guest speaker Will Schofield, Hall County Schools Superintendent. Refreshments will be served.

- Bob Cornett – HVAC
- Ira Woodard – Electrician
- Elmer Hopper – Residential Builder
- Jerry Chambers – Machinist/Toolmaker
- Aaron Wortman – Welder/Fabricator
- Don Morgan – Carpenter
- Harold Kilgore – Specialty Construction
