By B.J. Williams

CUMMING — An arrest has been made in a hit-and-run pedestrian incident in Forsyth County.

Forsyth County Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez said Stephanie Anderson, 28, of Cumming was booked into the county detention center Tuesday after officers from the country traffic unit found her.

"They tracked her down with evidence that was found at the scene from her vehicle," said Rodriguez.

Anderson has been charged with felony hit and run, serious injury by motor vehicle, failure to maintain lane and failure to stop and render aid in connection with an incident that happened on Sunday morning, June 21.  Anderson is believed to have hit a woman who was walking her dog on Highway 20 near Tower Road just after 4 a.m.  She is accused of leaving the scene without rendering aid or reporting the crash.

The pedestrian sustained critical injuries, according to Rodriguez. She lay on the side of the road until a passerby found her in a ditch around 5:45 a.m. Rodriguez said the pedestrian remains hospitalized.

Anderson posted bond Tuesday night.
