GAINESVILLE - A reception will be held early next month for three longtime Gainesville officials who are leaving office at the end of the year.
Council members Bob Hamrick and Myrtle Figueras, who did not seek re-election this year, and City Attorney James E. "Bubba" Palmour will be recognized for their service to the city.
The reception will be held Dec. 2 from 3:00-6:00 at the Brenau Downtown Center.
In lieu of gifts, donations will be accepted for the Myrtle Figueras Scholarship Fund, the Salvation Army and the Humane Society.
