COMMERCE — Commerce could not overcome Prince Avenue Christian on Friday, falling 35-14 in Commerce.
The Tigers (3-3, 2-2 Region 8-A) put up 217 yards of offense, including 70 yards rushing for Cole Chancey and 57 yards for Caleb Brooks. But the Wolverines put up 286 yards and jumped out to a 21-0 first half lead.
Brooks scored on a four-yard run to make it 21-7 in the second quarter, but Prince Avenue responded with a 47-yard touchdown run to lead 28-7 at the interval.
Brooks hooked up with J'Varius Wood on a 20-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, but Prince Avenue fired right back to maintain a three-touchdown cushion.
Commerce will take a bye next week before taking on Providence Christian on Oct. 16.
