DULUTH -- Mill Creek cruised past Duluth for a 42-0 win in their Region 7-AAAAAA opener on Friday in Duluth.<br />

The Hawks (2-2, 1-0 Region 7-AAAAAA) rolled up 487 total yards, including 340 of that on the ground -- led by 125 yards from Johnathan Hawkins , who ripped off a 54-yard scoring run.<br />

Duluth held Mill Creek through much of the first half, as the Hawks led 14-0 at the interval, but Hawkins' long run sparked a four-touchdown second half.<br />

Brian Efianayi finished with 66 yards rushing and a score, while Malik Turner added 29 yards and a score. Quarterback Daniel David put up 63 yards rushing and a score, while completing 9 of 16 passes for 147 yards and two scores. David is five touchdown passes shy of the school's career record.<br />

Miles Riley caught four passes for 44 yards, while Joseph Hull hauled in a 48-yard TD pass. Mich Pulley also caught a 28-yard TD pass.<br />

Tyler Vernon set a new record with five sacks in the game.<br />

Mill Creek will play host to North Gwinnett next week.
