Long-time Gainesville business launches line of canine treats

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - After 28 years of specializing in the catfish and poultry processing business for well-known pet food brands, the co-founders of Big Creek Foods are catering exclusively to a different clientele - pets.

The product line, known as "Look Who's Happy," was created by brothers Jeff and Tommy Gay based on the beliefs that "all dogs should be happy" and that "pet parents" deserve to know who's making the food and treats they feed their pets.

Having made their market debut just this July, the industry newcomers will showcase their "Fetch'n Fillets" and "Tempt'n Tenders" treat lines as first time Total Pet Expo exhibitors. Total Pet Expo is an industry trade show which will be held in Chicago later this month.

In addition, a ribbon-cutting is planned Friday at 10:00 at the company's headquarters on White Sulphur Road.

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce notes that Big Creek Foods is Hall County's newest food processor.

The family-owned, 20,000 square foot facility is capable of producing, packaging and distributing a broad range of pet treats, carefully formulated by an in-house nutritionist. Starting this year with ten employees, the firm expects to more than double that number within three years.

For additional information on the "Look Who's Happy" brand and its family of products, visit www.LookWhosHappy.com.
