Figures don't lie, but

A government report out of Washington says our economy has reached a "milestone." Good news, they say. America has regained the number of jobs lost in the recession. According to government statistics private and non-profit jobs are now back at the level we had in 2007. For the Obama economic team, which is looking down on us from on high, we should be cheering. But then comes the details. These numbers omit 536,000 jobs lost by state and local governments. So we still have fewer than 400,000 jobs than when Obama became President. If ever we need proof that socialist-style government does not work, it seems to me this is it. The present administration believes we are better off when the economy is controlled in Washington. They believe free-market, free-enterprise business must be regulated, controlled so that every person will receive the same income. Those being hurt most by this policy are our young people. Five graduating classes have entered the job market since Obama became President, and no matter what the figures, those people are hurting. On top of that, Obamacare wants young people to pay extra for their insurance to finance healthcare for us old geezers. The second most damaged is small business, the very group that usually is the new job generator. The economic liberals are cheering, but it reminds me of an old saying that says: "figures don't lie, but liars can figure."<br />
