HELEN - White County authorities say the tractor-trailer truck that wrecked in the northern part of the county Monday afternoon was hauling scrap metal. <br />

The single-vehicle accident involved the tractor-trailer overturning, causing a six-hour closure of Georgia Highway 75 north of Helen. <br />

White County Chief Deputy Bob Ingram said Tuesday the accident, reported around 3:30 p.m. Monday, occurred in a sharp curve one mile north of Andrews Cove. <br />

Ingram said the driver was negotiating a curve when he lost control. <br />
<br />
The highway was shut down for more than six hours while authorities investigated the accident and crews cleared up the spilled scrap metal and uprighted the truck and trailer.<br />
<br />
White County 9-1-1 dispatch said the road was reopened around 10 p.m. Monday.
