HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek still has a shot at the Region 7-AAAAAA title, and the Hawks let everyone know they are ready for that challenge on Friday.

Mill Creek smacked Collins Hill 51-7 in Hoschton, a result that -- combined with Peachtree Ridge's win over Norcross and North Gwinnett's defeat of Duluth -- made for a four-way tie at the top of 7-AAAAAA.

The Hawks still have Norcross and Peachtree Ridge left on the schedule, and, judging by Friday, they may be getting the two games at just the right time.

Mill Creek put up 431 yards of offense and held Collins Hill to 175 total yards -- keeping the Eagles hemmed on their side of the field until late in the fourth quarter.

Johnathan Hawkins led the assault for Mill Creek (5-3, 4-1 Region 7-AAAAAA), rushing for 132 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries. His three scores made it 20-0 by the second quarter. Brian Efianayi also rushed for 73 yards and two scores on 13 carries, while Jason Chase added 68 yards and a score.

Quarterback Daniel David put up 35 yards rushing and 123 yards passing, completing 8 of 10 attempts.
Mill Creek will look to close strong next week, traveling to face Norcross.
