Wildcats, Woerner whip Oglethorpe, set up 8-AA showdown

TIGER -- Rabun County scored 28 second quarter points to blow open a close game en route to a 49-7 Region 8-AA victory over Oglethorpe County Friday night.<br /> <br /> The game was tied 7-7 after the first quarter and then Charlie Woerner took control. Woerner scored three times in the quarter, including runs of 21- and 4-yards, and a 23-yard TD preception from Collin Grant as the Wildcats (5-2, 3-0 Region 8-AA) led 35-7 at halftime.<br /> <br /> Woerner finished with 208 all-purpose yards, 155 rushing, on just 10 touches.<br /> <br /> It was the fourth straight win for Rabun County, who will travel to arch-rival Union County next week for a showdown for first place in the region.<br /> <br /> The Wildcats defense had one of its best games of the season holding the Patriots (0-6, 0-3) to just 141 total yards and forcing four turnovers.
