Balance, tough defense propel No. 4 Dragons past Morgan Co.

MADISON -- The Jefferson offense showed tremendous balance and explosiveness in a 51-16 demolition of Morgan County Friday night in Region 8-AAA action.<br />

The Dragons (7-0, 3-0 Region 8-AAA) had 246 yards rushing and 248 yards passing while limiting the Bulldogs to just 252 total yards for the game.<br />
<br />
Evan Shirreffs was 12-of-24 for 248 yards and two touchdowns. Sammy Williams had 123 yards and one TD rushing and Colby Wood added 115 yards and three touchdowns rushing for Jefferson.<br />
<br />
T.J. Skelton had 166 yards and one touchdown receiving and Rodney Carr had 46 yards and one TD catch for the Dragons.<br />
<br />
The Jefferson defense was outstanding holding Morgan County to half of its season average of 31 points a game. Joseph Randolph and Tradd Porter each had one interception for the Dragons.<br />
<br />
Morgan County (3-3, 1-1) will travel to Oconee County next week.<br />
<br />
Jefferson will play host to East Jackson next week.
