GREENSBOROR -- Jefferson opened its Region 8-AA schedule Friday with a pair of impressive wins over Greene County in girls softball action.
The Lady Dragons whipped the Lady Tigers 21-0 in the first game and then took a 15-0 win in the second game, both in just three innings.
Olivia Husted got the win in the Game 1 striking out nine while walking just one. Husted and Savannah Snapp led a 19-hit barrage with six hits combined and each drove in five runs.
Caitlin Cantrell got the win in the second game fanning six and walking none. At the plate, Meagan Faulkner, Ashley Boyd, and Cantrell each had two hits. Cantrell had four RBI as well.
Jefferson improved to 4-2, overall 2-0 in Region 8-AA. The Lady Dragons will travel to take on Class AAAAA Flowery Branch on Saturday.
