Volleyball: East Hall stays perfect after two close wins

TALLULAH FALLS -- The East Hall girls volleyball team was pushed to the limit Thursday night but remained unbeaten after winning two matches on the road.

The Lady Vikings (13-0) held off Yeshiva out of Atlanta 25-23, 25-22 and then nipped host Tallulah Falls in three tough sets 25-23, 17-25, 26-24.

Tarryn Long paced East Hall with 31 kills and 18 digs. Kara Hix added 12 points on serve to go with 10 kills, four assists and 52 digs. Ashleigh Burnett had eight kills and 12 digs for the Lady Vikings.

Cassida Shockley scored 13 points on serve with 50 assists. Jessica Chmiel had 12 points scored, Emily Roberts had 9 points scored on serve with three aces and five kills, Allison Segars had eight kills, and Savannah Lindsey had two points scored on serve with three digs.

The Lady Vikings next will on Saturday at the Lumpkin County Indian Invitational.
