LAWRENCEVILLE - Firefighters in Gwinnett County rescued a man and woman who were found unresponsive in a burning home Thursday morning.
Gwinnett County Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said that someone passing by the home on Lester Road in Lawrenceville around 4:30 a.m. reported the fire. Arriving crews, who found the structure engulfed in flames, went inside to search for occupants and battle the blaze.
Rutledge said the firefighters found the two people during the initial search and removed them from the home. Authorities said both people were unresponsive.
They were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center with advanced life support measures in progress.
Conditions of the two people are unknown.
