GAINESVILLE -- The East Hall girls softball team continued its solid play with a 7-2 win over Gainesville Wednesday at Lanier Pointe.
Natalie Winters allowed one run on four hits and three walks while stricking out six in a complete game effort.
Josie Coker had three RBIs to spark the East Hall offense. She singled in the second and third innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
The Lady Vikings never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring one run on an RBI single by Emma House. They added four more runs in the top of the third.
Gainesville closed the gap to 5-1 in the fifth on a East Hall error.
After East Hall extended the lead to 7-1 in the seventh, the lady Elephants trimmed it to 7-2 on a RBI groundout by Whitney Ledford.
East Hall will get back in Region 7-AAA play Thursday traveling to take on Dawson County.
