GAINESVILLE - Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch Wednesday promoted Sergeant Bonner Burton and Sergeant Jason Smith to the position of Lieutenant. Both will be assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division.<br />

Burton was hired with the Sheriff's Office in August of 1995 as a jailer. <br />
<br />
Smith was hired with the Sheriff's Office in September of 1998. <br />
