ATLANTA - An assistant men's tennis coach at Georgia Tech who was jailed on a rape charge has resigned from his position.
A school spokesman says Conor Pollock resigned Wednesday. Pollock, the former All-American tennis player at Texas A&M, was hired by Georgia Tech last year.
Pollock also faces charges of cocaine and marijuana possession after his arrest on March 24.
Pollock's attorney J. Tom Morgan says his client was released from the Fulton County Jail the same day as his resignation.
Atlanta police say Pollock approached a 23-year-old woman leaving a Buckhead bar and invited her to his nearby apartment, and she and a female friend went there. Police spokesman John Chafee told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that one of the women told police she woke up and the suspect was raping her.
